Rim Asian Bistro at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino debuts new menu offerings
Celebrate Lunar New Year with a special prix fixe menu created by Chef Kan Pui Li, served Friday, Feb. 12
RENO, Nev. (Jan. 21, 2021) – Experience the culinary enchantment of the Far East at Rim Asian Bistro at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (GSR). With a profusion of Asian specialties and some of the most delicious sushi in Reno, the bistro-style restaurant features a brand new menu with signature dishes created by Chef Kan Pui Li, who recently took over the restaurant’s operations.
Ring in the Year of the Ox with a feast fit for a king with a special prix fixe menu. Served family style for guests to share the experience together, enjoy Dry Scallop with Crabmeat Soup; Roasted Squab with Osmanthus; Sautéed Oysters served with a ginger scallion sauce; Deep Fried Whole Flounder with Shiitake mushroom and pork; Sautéed Tiger Prawns served with broccoli, sugar peas and seasonal vegetables; and Mixed Vegetables Lo Han Jai. Finish the meal with Ginger Pudding. The Lunar New Year menu is available for two or more guests for $88 per person Friday, Feb. 12 beginning at 5 p.m.
New signature dinner selections at Rim Asian Bistro include Sautéed Scallops stir-fried in XO sauce; Black Pepper Crusted Ahi Tuna marinated in a sweet and spicy Indonesian soy sauce; and Abalone braised in Oyster Sauce with shitake mushrooms. Guests can also enjoy Steamed Whole Black Bass with ginger, scallion and signature soy sauce, and Sautéed Whole Lobster with ginger and scallion in a creamy white sauce.
Located front-and-center of the fine dining venue, stop and sip at Rim Bar, which also offers a full sushi menu and serves an array of sake, wine, beer and specialty cocktails.
A staple in the Reno culinary community for more than 25 years, Chef Kan Pui Li brings his expertise in authentic Chinese cuisine to Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, where he currently serves as Asian Specialty Chef. Born and raised in China, Chef Kan studied Hotel and Tourism Management at Baptist University in Hong Kong, where he went on to hold various culinary positions in some of the city’s most prestigious hotels and restaurants, including the Hong Kong Hotel, Peninsula Hotel and American Club Hong Kong.
